The Chronicles theme was created with threaded comments and stylishtheme options and was designed with a magazine or news look - but certainly can be used for any blog.
Offering a quite functional and a clean professional look, it maintains easy navigation while providing multiple widget use and custom options to easily change the color scheme.
To easily change the color scheme of the theme, simply log into your WordPress Admin Panel and activate the Chronicles theme.
After activation, click the "Chronicles" > "Chronicles Options" link. On the right, use the pull down menu to select the color of your choice. The main colors that will change are the header menu, the footer menus and the panel headers on the right sidebar. Smaller less oblivious color changes will include link colors throughout the site.
Once selected, click the Save Color Changes button and that's it.
The "default" color is light green as you see here.
In addition to the main index, page, single and other templates that are normally include with a WordPress theme, the Chronicles theme includes additional templates for your website layout. The extra templates include a ARCHIVES-TEMPLATE, SITEMAP-TEMPLATE and a FULLPAGE-TEMPLATE.
To utilize the ARCHIVES-TEMPLATE and the SITEMAP-TEMPLATE, create a blank page with a header title such as Archives and Sitemap respectively. Next, simply choose the appropriate template from the "Template" selections under the Attributes section of your new page. There is no need to type any information in the new page, the custom template has the appropriate code for the layout.
To utilize the FULLPAGE-TEMPLATE, create a new page just like you normally would except you would select the Full Page Template from the "Template" selections under the Attributes section of you new page. In this case, you will want to type in all your page information. This template simply removes the sidebar and creates a full width page.
