# FDA Starter Lite - Slider Guide

From version 1.1.0 the recommended slider is the **Native hero slider (easy edit)** pattern.

It does not require the FDA Starter Tools plugin.

The slider uses native Gutenberg Cover blocks. The public site turns those Cover blocks into a slider with a tiny vanilla JavaScript file included in the theme.
